President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will represent Poland at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the head of the President's Office, Krzysztof Szczerski, said on Friday.
Minister Szczerski added that President Andrzej Duda is scheduled to hold a series of business and political meetings during the January 23-26 annual event.
The presidential minister, speaking to a private radio broadcaster, added that PM Mateusz Morawiecki is also going to Davos. "This will be a strong representation."
Krzysztof Szczerski, commenting on President Duda's January 18 visit to New York, where he is scheduled to take part in an open debate of the UN Security
Council, said that the president had decided to attend the meeting as it will be the first open debate held with the participation of Poland as a member country.
While in New York, the president is to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and with EU ambassadors to the UN.
On January 1, Poland became a UN Security Council non-permanent member. (PAP)
