A cooperation agreement on new technologies in cancer treatment was signed in Houston, Texas on Friday by Polish Minister of Health Lukasz Szumowski and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The signing ceremony was attended by President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda, on a visit to US till June 17.
"There is no doubt that the MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of the most important partners in the world, with whom we want to battle this terrible scourge, which are oncological diseases," Andrzej Duda noted in his speech. He also pointed out that combatting them is "one of the greatest challenges for civilization in the next decades, when it comes to health care."
After the ceremony, the presidential couple met with the employees of MD Anderson Cancer Center, including doctors of Polish origin.
