The Three Seas regional cooperation initiative promoted by Polish President Andrzej Duda could increase Europe's unity and cohesion, Polish president's chief aide Krzysztof Szczerski said before a meeting with his regional counterparts.
President Andrzej Duda has advocated for increased infrastructure cooperation among countries located between the Baltic, Black and Adriatic Seas, a concept he has termed "The Three Seas".
In July, Poland will host a summit of countries located in the Three Seas region, Minister Szczerski stressed.
"The Three Seas initiative is a new concept to promote Europe's unity and cohesion, it is an idea of cooperation among 12 countries located between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas, the three seas of Central Europe", Krzysztof Szczerski said.
The initiative is a form of regional cooperation that is in line with the EU's regional development policies, according to the president's chief aide.
The 12 presidential aides met on Thursday to debate the arrangements for the Three Seas' July summit in Wroclaw, south-west Poland. (PAP)
