Twentieth anniversary of NATO enlargement to be marked in Prague

President Andrzej Duda, along with the presidents of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, will mark the 20th anniversary of the enlargement of NATO, in Prague on March 12, the Polish President’s Office has announced.



President Duda will take part in the celebration of the event together with Czech President Milos Zeman, Slovak President Andrej Kiska and Hungarian President Janos Ader.


At the end of January, the Czech President's Office of the announced that the 20th anniversary of the entry of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary into NATO would be commemorated with a ceremony at the Prague Castle. In addition to the presidents, President Zeman also invited the heads of diplomacy and defence ministers of these countries.


Former United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, will also be a guest of honour at the Prague ceremony. Officials associated with the then leadership of NATO, as well as representatives of defence ministries and other heads of diplomacy are expected to attend the observance. (PAP)
