Presidents of Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania to visit Lublin
On February 8, 2019, the XXVII Meeting of the Consultative Committee of the President of the Republic of Poland and the President of Ukraine was held in Warsaw, under the chairmanship of the State Secretary - Chief of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Poland Krzysztof Szczerski and the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Kostiantyn Yelisieiev.
The Parties substantively discussed the current state of affairs in Polish-Ukrainian relations, as well as agreed on further agenda of cooperation on bilateral, European and international agenda.
It was agreed that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko would pay a joint visit together with the Presidents of the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Lithuania to the headquarters of the LITPOLUKRBRIG in Lublin in February, 2019.
The Parties discussed ways to resume the process of search and exhumation activities in Ukraine.
Taking into account the current non-permanent membership of Poland in UN SC, the sides exchanged views on further efforts needed to consolidate the international community in order to provide Ukraine with practical support in countering Russian aggression and the release by the Russian Federation of Ukrainian detainees, including the sailors captured near the Kerch Strait in November 2018.
It was decided to foster cooperation on security issues, including the energy security, as well as countering the project of Nord Stream II.
The parties underlined the importance to enhance the transborder, economic and investment cooperation between Ukraine and Poland.
The delegations followed up on the state of affairs in implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, as well as defined priorities for the activity of bilateral institutional mechanisms.
Ukrainian side invited the Polish side to hold next meeting of the Committee this year in Ukraine.
