President, UN Human Rights Commissioner meet in Davos
President Andrzej Duda, during his meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, discussed the Polish candidacy for the UN Human Rights Council for the years 2020-22.
President Andrzej Duda, addressing a press conference on Thursday, said that the two also discussed Poland's current humanitarian policy.
See also: Polish role in transatlantic relations among President's topics at Davos President, NATO chief agree bloc's condition improved "I spoke of the Polish government's steps undertaken in this field," said the president, who also stressed that Poland is focusing its humanitarian action on the Middle East region, "on support for Christians."
At the same time, Andrzej Duda welcomed the fact that Poland's efforts are being recognised by the international community. (PAP)
