Telegram of congratulations from the President of the Republic of Poland
Mr Andrzej Duda
to the President of Hungary
Mr János Áder
on the occasion of the National Day of Hungary
Dear Mr President,
On the occasion of the National Day, marking the 170th anniversary of the Hungarian Spring of Nations, on behalf of the Polish Nation and my own behalf, I wish to extend our best wishes for the wellbeing of the Hungarian People and for your own prosperity.
The Polish-Hungarian friendship boasts long and glorious traditions which contribute to the common European heritage. Our brotherhood stood as a unique example of lasting bonds of solidarity between two friendly Nations in Europe. In our memory, those bonds are manifestly evidenced by the developments which unfolded 170 years ago, when the Poles lent their support to the Hungarians during the Spring of Nations.
I welcome with great satisfaction the prospect of upcoming Day of the Polish-Hungarian Friendship to be celebrated in Veszprém. I am confident the occasion will provide an excellent opportunity to emphasize particular ties that exist between Poland and Hungary.
On a day so important to you, Sir, and to your Compatriots, please, accept our assurances of friendliness and our best wishes for your success and prosperity,
with my high consideration,
President of the Republic of Poland
