The Polish President's top aide, Krzysztof Szczerski, said on Saturday that the President's Office was deeply disappointed with the outcome of talks between the Polish and Ukrainian deputy prime ministers over a historical dispute between the two countries.

"We hope that the ban will be lifted in the near future in view of the commitments made," the head of the President's Office stressed.

Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Piotr Glinski and Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko met for talks in Warsaw on Friday to discuss a diplomatic rift that has persisted between the two countries for almost a year concerning mutual history. (PAP)
