The arrival of the China Railway Express marks the opening of the New Silk Road - a Chinese project to open a new commercial route linking Asia and Europe.

Trains from China reach Poland within 11 to 14 days, while ships sail to Europe from 35 to as much as 50 days. Air transport is expensive, which is why there is a growing interest in rail cargo transport. Currently, PKP Cargo handles some 20 trains to and from China each week. (PAP)
