Jakub Kumoch – Secretary of State, Head of the International Policy Bureau 

Jakub Kumoch is an orientalist and political scientist, an expert on European Union external relations. He served in the Security, Defence and Foreign Affairs Section of the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Poland. He is a graduate of the Institute of International Relations and the Institute of Oriental Studies at the University of Warsaw, and received his PhD degree in Social Sciences from the Jagiellonian University in 2015. He is part of the European Commission's group of experts scrutinizing election processes and in that capacity has participated in several EU and OSCE Election Observation Missions.

From October 2016 to March 2020, he served as Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Switzerland and Liechtenstein; from March 2020 to July 2021 in Turkey. He is fluent in Turkish, English, French, Croatian, Spanish, Russian, German and Italian. He also speaks Ukrainian and Arabic, among other languages.

 As of July 14, 2021, Jakub Kumoch has been appointed by  President of the Republic of Poland as Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland: Head of the International Policy Bureau.
