The Polish and Estonian presidents discuss the development of cooperation
The President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, met President Bronisław Komorowski during the 20th Economic Forum in Krynica to discuss the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries.
Bronisław Komorowski emphasized that the forum in Krynica is an opportunity to appreciate the significance of countries which, while not direct neighbours of Poland, face problems similar to Poland within the EU. "Estonia is such a country," he said.
Komorowski remarked that his meeting with the Estonian president in Krynica constitutes preparation for the meeting of the presidents of the Baltic States in Riga, due to take place on Friday.
"I hope that we will be able to facilitate the development of direct cooperation with Estonia – it is a country boldly countering the effects of the economic crisis in Europe, and bold also as far as determining objectives for integration, security, and cross-border cooperation in the region is concerned," Komorowski added.
