Top presidential aide meets US ambassador to UN in New York

Krzysztof Szczerski, top aide to Polish President Andrzej Duda, met on Thursday in New York with the US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, and the two officials discussed how Warsaw and Washington can work together at the UN and elsewhere.


See also: President launches Poland's membership of UN Security Council Krzysztof Szczerski was in New York to accompany the Polish president, who began Poland's two-year membership of the United Nations Security Council, by taking part in a debate on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction earlier on Thursday.


After meeting Ambassador Haley, the presidential aide said the conversation focused on how Poland and the US can work together at the UNSC, as well as on "the most immediate bilateral agenda with regard to international policy and bilateral contacts at the highest level."


Both officials underlined that for the sake of the future of regional and global security, it was important for Poland and the US to maintain close political and economic ties. (PAP)
