President Duda sends condolences to Egyptian President after train crash

President Andrzej Duda has sent a message of condolence to the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, after two passenger trains collided on the outskirts of Alexandria in northern Egypt on Friday, leaving 49 people dead and 123 injured.


"On behalf of the Polish nation and myself I want to convey the words of grief and deep sympathy for the terrible result of the rail disaster in the suburbs of Alexandria, where many people lost their lives and suffered so many injuries", President Duda wrote.


"I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the casualties of this tragedy, and I wish all the injured a prompt return to health", the Polish president added.


"We are united in sadness with the Egyptian people," President Duda wrote.(PAP)
