"The Polish people will be able to meet the Prince and Princess of Cambridge, William and Kate, on Monday during their walk through Krakowskie Przedmiescie street in Warsaw", President Andrzej Duda's chief aide Krzysztof Szczerski announced on Sunday.

Krzysztof Szczerski explained Prince William and Princess Kate will walk from the Presidential Palace to the statue of Adam Mickiewicz after 3pm.

"This is a visit of friendship and respect, not a political mission, because the princely couple does not engage in day-to-day British policy. It is, rather, an expression of the good relations between Poland and Britain", the President's aide added.

"We are glad that the Prince and Princess of Cambridge have chosen Poland, Warsaw, Gdansk, and later Berlin as the destinations for their European visit. We are glad they decided to visit these two countries", Krzysztof Szczerski said.

According to him, the visit represents another opportunity to present Poland on the international stage. "After the successful visit of US President Donald Trump, we have a second big media event in July. As a result, Poland will show itself to the world, because the visit of the Prince and Princess of Cambridge generates great interest, so the images from Poland will be shown around the world again", the Presidential aide explained.

The Princely couple, together with their children, are arriving in Warsaw in the early afternoon on Monday, to be met by Poland's presidential couple Andrzej Duda and Agata Kornhauser-Duda in the Presidential Palace. Around 5:15pm they will walk through Krakowskie Przedmiescie street. Both couples are then expected to head to the museum of the Warsaw Uprising, for a meeting with the veterans.

The Princely couple will also meet young enterpreneurs in the Warsaw Spire skyscraper, followed by a reception in the evening, when Prince William is to deliver a speech.

In Warsaw, William, Kate and their children are going stay in the Belvedere Palace. For the second day of their visit, they will move to Gdansk.

Rounding off the visit, on Wednesday a private meeting is planned in the Belvedere Palace with the presidential couple, whereupon Kate and William will head for Berlin. (PAP)
