"US President Donald Trump's visit to Poland emphasises our ties and high quality of the Polish-US alliance", Polish President Andrzej Duda said at a joint conference with President Trump at Warsaw's Royal Castle on Thursday.

On Thursday morning, Presidents Duda and Trump held a face-to-face meeting followed by plenary talks of the Polish and US delegations.

"I am very glad about this visit to Warsaw, which is one of the first foreign visits paid by the US president, since it emphasises our ties and high quality of the Polish-US alliance", President Duda went on. "It shows that we are and that we see each other as loyal partners cooperating in many fields, among others, in NATO. And this was one of the subjects of my face-to-face conversation with President Trump and of plenary talks of our delegations", the Polish head of state said after a face-to-face meeting with President Trump and plenary talks of the Polish and US delegations.

"I hope that Poland will soon sign a long-term contract for LNG gas delivery, diversifying in this way supplies of this important raw material", Polish President Andrzej Duda added.

"We spoke about economic contracts, not only military ones, which also concern security, including gas deliveries to Poland", President Duda said.

The Polish president reminded that the first US LNG shipment reached Poland on June 8.

"It turned out a success; there were no problems, no obstacles which could have made this shipment not reach Poland's Swinoujscie terminal. And this opens up the road to more contracts", President Duda went on.

"I hope that a long-term contract for LNG deliveries from the US will be signed soon. And that this will mark the beginning of diversification of deliveries of this extremely important raw material to Poland", President Duda stressed.

"During the plenary meeting of our delegations we talked about the presence of American troops in Poland, strengthening the security in our part of Europe and at the same time the NATO's eastern flank. We also discussed the situation in Ukraine as well as the upcoming Zapad-17 (Russian) military exercises to take place in Belarus", President Duda said. He added that the talks also concerned contracts for Polish army's modernisation.

During the talks President Trump was accompanied by Secretaries of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin and Commerce Wilbur Ross, Presidential National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and one of his closest aides, and head of the Economic Council at the US president Gary Cohn.

President Duda was accompanied by deputy PM and Development and Finance Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski, Interior Minister Antoni Macierewicz, Government Commissioner for gas infrastructure Piotr Naimski and presidential officials: head of the President's Office Halina Szymanska, National Security Bureau head Pawel Soloch, President's top aide Minister Krzysztof Szczerski, president's spokesman Krzysztof Lapinski and Poland's ambassador to the US Piotr Wilczek.
