The summit of the Three Seas countries will be held in Warsaw this July. According to White House announcements, US President Trump will be a guest at the summit, President Andrzej Duda said in Zagreb on Tuesday. President Duda recalled that Poland and Croatia will be the co-hosts of the July summit. "The original plan was to hold the summit in Wroclaw but due to changed circumstances, we are forced, due to logistics and security reasons, to move the Three Seas summit to Warsaw", the president explained during a joint conference with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.

The Polish president said that in tune with White House announcements the summit would be attended by President Trump. He added that both he and the Croatian president have extended invitations to Trump to take part in the summit and meet with representatives of Central European countries.

The Three Seas Initiative is a common idea of the presidents of Poland and Croatia and concerns the cooperation of Central and Eastern European countries in the areas of energy, transport, digitisation and economy. The Initiative brings together Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania and Austria.

President Duda declared in May that he wants to make it one of the priorities of his presidency. This is because – he explained - it should help the region be more secure and assertive, which will add to the stability and growth of the Euro-Atlantic world. (PAP)
