Poland wants to see a world that is built on cooperation and security, Polish President Andrzej Duda said in Mexico at a ceremonial session of the country's Senate on Tuesday. Andrzej Duda added that Mexico was an important partner in pursuing this goal.

The Polish president stressed that the international system was undergoing dynamic and historic changes. "A new geopolitical division is being forged before our very eyes. Experts that deal with international relations speak about the possibility of restoring the zones of influence of superpowers. Poland is not an advocate of such a world", President Duda stressed.

The Polish head of state was welcomed by Senate President Pablo Escudero Morales.

Poland consistently supports European unity and opposes creating divisions and hierarchies of EU member states, President Andrzej Duda said at a ceremonial session.

"Those who divide Europe - weaken Europe. Those who divide the Western world - weaken it", the Polish president pointed out.

Europe will retain its strength only when it is based on four unities: of European integration institutions, of the community law, of the European market and of the European budget in the scope of common policy. "EU citizens should be offered equal access to European freedoms", President Duda stressed. (PAP) See also: President: Trade office in Mexico to help Polish firms
