Minister Szczerski talks security with US congressmen
Security, European politics and the situation in Ukraine were in the focus of a meeting by Polish President's cabinet head Krzysztof Szczerski with a delegation of US Congressmen in Warsaw on Wednesday.
The delegation of congressmen from the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committees was led by Paul Cook.
During a meeting at the Presidential Palace Minister Szczerski thanked for the US military engagement in Poland and stressed that it should be lasting. The minister added that strategic ties linking Poland and the US were one of the pillars of security system in our region.
Speaking on behalf of President Andrzej Duda, Minister Szczerski said the president was glad that the decisions taken by the Warsaw NATO summit were being implemented on time.
The visiting congressmen praised Poland for its involvement in the alliance's operations and for maintaining stable outlays on defence at 2 percent GDP.
Minister Szczerski also presented to the congressmen a Three Seas project encompassing countries on the Baltic, Adriatic and Black seas. It is aimed at bringing these countries closer together. (PAP)
