Maciej Klimczak - Undersecretary of State
Educationalist, civil servant, diplomat. He graduated from the Faculty of Education of the University of Warsaw. In 1990 he took up the post of Deputy Director of the Department of Culture Education in the Ministry of Culture and Art and, from 1992, the position of Director of the Department of Culture Promotion. In the years 2001-2005 he was Undersecretary of State in this department. In 2003 he acted as General Conservation Officer.
During the years 1995-2001, Maciej Klimczak also worked as a lecturer of Postgraduate Studies for Managers of Culture at the Warsaw School of Economics. In 2005 he was awarded a silver Medal for Merits to Culture – Gloria Artis.
In the years 2005-2009 Maciej Klimczak acted as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in Latvia.
In 2010 he was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of the Three Stars of the Republic of Latvia.
On 18 March 2011 he was appointed to the position of Undersecretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
