Andrzej Dera – Secretary of State
Andrzej Dera was born on 10 December 1965 in Ostrow Wielkopolski. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan. He completed a pupillage for judges, and subsequently passed a judicial exam.
In the years 1990-1997, Mr Dera was Head of the Regional Office in Ostrow Wielkopolski. In 1999-2002, he was Head of the Ostrowskie District Executive, previously from 1990 to 1994, he had worked as a City Councillor of Ostrow Wielkopolski and from 1998 to 2005, as a District Councillor in Ostrowski District. Mr Dera was a deputy to the Polish Sejm in its 5th, 6th and 7th term of office. In 2007 he was a member of the Civil Service Council reporting to the Prime Minister. Moreover, in the years 2006-2011, Mr Dera was a member of the National Judiciary Council.
On 16 November 2015, Mr Dera was appointed by President of the Republic of Poland Mr Andrzej Duda to the position of Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President.
