The President of Poland came to Ireland

On 18th February 2007 in the afternoon the President of the Republic of Poland and Ms Kaczyńska arrived with a state visit in Ireland. The President is accompanies by Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Mr Robert Draba.

On Sunday President Kaczyński met in the residence of the Polish Ambassador with representatives of the Polish community in Ireland.



On Monday 19th February The Polish President met with the President of Ireland Ms Mary McAleese. President Lech Kaczyński planted a tree in the garden of the Presidential Palace in Dublin. He also laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the garden of Remembrance.

In the afternoon the Polish President paid a visit to the Parliament where he signed the commemorative book and spoke with the Chairmen of both Houses. He also met with the Prime Minister of Ireland Bertie Ahern and the Archbishop of Dublin D. Martin. Lech Kaczyński took part in a meeting with representatives of media of the Polish community.

In the evening the Presidential Couple took part in an official dinner hosted in their honour by the President of Ireland and Mr McAleese.
