Message of condolence from the President of RP to the President of Pakistan

On 27 December 2007, President of the Republic of Poland Mr Lech Kaczynski sent a message of condolence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mr Pervez Musharraf in connection with the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

The message runs as follows:

“I was pained and grieved to learn about the death of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto who was killed in a tragic terrorist attack. On behalf of the Polish Nation and on my own behalf, I would like to express our sympathy and extend our sincerest condolences to all the families of victims of this beastly attack. I trust that the process of reconciliation of the Pakistani Nation will not cease in spite of the acts of terror and that Pakistan’s stability will be preserved in the important period of upcoming elections in your country.

Through you, Sir, I would like to convey my conviction that the perpetrators of this attack will be captured and that Pakistan will continue on the road of respecting democratic rules.”
